Adelaide: Vogue Codes 2019
The 2019 event series saw the Vogue Codes movement visit Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The Vogue Codes platform aims to inspire more females to study and take up careers in technology.
The 2019 Vogue Codes campaign launched in Adelaide, with the Visionary Women Dinner and the Vogue Codes In Conversation breakfast presented by Audi. The breakfast, held at Adelaide’s 2KW Bar and Restaurant, included a panel of Canaria Technologies CEO and head designer, Alex Moss, and Australian Olympic cyclist (and two-time gold medalist), Anna Meares.
Edwina McCann, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia, moderated the discussion centred around health and technology: from sport to space. Both Moss and Meares served up multiple pearls of wisdom that left the room feeling inspired.
Vogue Codes also hosted an event at the University of Adelaide, where tech leaders and innovators sat down with our very own editors in front of a lecture theatre of students. First up, we saw Vogue Codes editor Victoria Baker sit down with Dr Michelle Perugini, co-founder and CEO of Presagen, to chat through the topic of artificial intelligence, and how it’s changing the world. Digital editorial director Julia Frank then sat down with The Daily Edited founder Alyce Tran, CEO and head designer of Canaria Technologies Alex Moss, and co-founder of Suntrix, Jenny Paradiso to walk through the dichotomies of glamour and grit, and what starting a business is really like.
Finally, editor-in-chief Edwina McCann hosted a panel with Australian Fashion Labels founder Melanie Flintoft, and founder and CEO of Kik Innovation, Louise Nobes. Together, they walked through the idea of being an entrepreneur, and balancing inspiration with innovation.
